Pittsburgh/New Castle/Meadville/Erie, PA/Boardman, OH – K. James Hunt, CPA has been selected as the Managing Partner of Carbis Walker LLP, Certified Public Accountants & Consultants. He is also the Firm’s Coordinator of Health Care Services and will remain in this capacity in addition to his new role.

Since joining the Firm sixteen years ago, Hunt has focused on the health care industry niche, and in 1998, was selected to lead the Firm’s Health Care Group. Since that time, this Group has grown in excess of 500% in terms of revenue and number of team members. Likewise, Carbis Walker’s health care client base has also expanded geographically to encompass all of Pennsylvania, as well as surrounding states, and is considered one of the premier firms providing health care services in the region. In his expanded role, Hunt is looking forward to working more closely with the Firm’s other existing industry niches which include Manufacturing & Distribution, Construction & Real Estate, and Auto Dealerships.

In 2005, he was selected to be part of the Firm’s Operating Committee, which is a governing body that oversees various operational and strategic matters relative to the Firm. He is also the President of Total Practice Management, LLC, a physician billing and practice consulting company affiliated with Carbis Walker through common ownership.

Hunt is a graduate of Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He represents the Firm as a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Homes for the Aging (PANPHA), and the Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA). He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and various other professional and industry associations. Hunt has conducted numerous speaking engagements relative to health care finance for state health care associations and state CPA societies and has written articles for local and national publications.

He and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Volant, Pennsylvania with their two children.
