Mark H. Strausbaugh, CPA, CMPE

Partner - Health Care Services

Mark Strausbaugh is a Partner of Carbis Walker LLP and a member of the Firm’s Health Care Services Team. His focus is on accounting, tax, and practice management matters of physician and physician group clients of the Firm. Mark currently serves as engagement partner for approximately forty physician practices in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio. Mark is responsible for coordinating the overall delivery of a wide variety of specialized services including compensation plans, employee benefit arrangements, benchmarking studies, purchasing and selling of practice interests, and similar services.

Additionally, Mark is Treasurer of Total Practice Management, LLC, an affiliated company specializing in physician billing and practice consulting services. He also has earned the designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) from the American College of Medical Practice Executives. The designation demonstrates that Mark has achieved board certification in medical practice management. He has successfully certified his skill set in the areas of business operations, financial management, organizational governance, human resource management, information management, patient care systems, quality management, and risk management.

Mark is a graduate of Slippery Rock University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, where he has served as President of the Northwestern Chapter. Mark is an active member of the Medical Group Management Association and Healthcare Financial Management Association. Additionally, he serves on the parent board and finance committee of Meadville Health Systems, Inc., the Corporate Membership Board of both Meadville Medical Center and UPMC Northwest Medical Center, the board of the Meadville Medical Center Foundation, and is a founding board member of the Crawford Heritage Foundation, a community foundation based in Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
