Rich
Gordon is currently Carbis Walker LLP's Managing Partner. Throughout
his twenty-one years with the Firm, Rich has developed internal
policies and procedures to enhance the delivery of services to
the Firm's health care clients. In particular, his experience relative
to the health care industry includes financial, tax and consulting
matters, Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Cross prospective payment
consulting, including appeals, interim rate appeals, evaluation
of cost centers, physicians fee schedule analysis, physician and
hospital agreements, assistance with valuation of medical practices,
mergers and acquisitions of medical practices and statistical analysis.
As Managing Partner, Rich is responsible for the day to day management
of the Firm's operations and development and implementation of
the Firm's internal policies and procedures.
Rich is President of Total Practice Management the Firm's specialty
division which was specifically created to provide medical billing
and consulting services to meet the demands of physician, hospital
and nursing home clients. He has been instrumental in the development
and implementation of Carbis Walker's health care services programs
and has provided consultation to numerous physician groups. Rich
is also President of Walker Benefits, Inc., which provides retirement
plan design services, along with third-party administration (TPA)
to a variety of clients.
A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor
of Science in Accounting, Rich is a member of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Pennsylvania Institute
of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) where he has been appointed
to the Long-range Objectives Committee, the Healthcare Financial
Management Association (HFMA), the Pennsylvania Health Care Association
(PHCA) and the Pennsylvania Association of Non-Profit Homes for
the Aging (PANPHA) and the Pennsylvania Health Care Association
(PHCA). He is an instructor in Slippery Rock University's "Core
of Knowledge for Nursing Home Administrators" course and the
Pennsylvania Association Directors of Nursing Administration
(PADONA)'s "Boot Camp for Directors of Nursing." Rich has been
published as a contributing author, in Aspen Publishing's "Corporate
Compliance Manual." Rich is also a member of the Operating Committee,
Carbis Walker's policy-making body.
